The silent patient
Alex Michaelides
The silent patient started out as a good suspenseful book. Although you were able to figure out where it was going, I still found myself wanting to finish it and discover more.

The teacher
Frieda McFadden
I enjoyed reading the teacher. It was an easy read. There were multiple plot twist that kept me guessing until the end. Through out the book my opinion on certain characters changed due to their actions that made them more or less likable once you knew the entire story.

Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off - Amish Matchmaker #6 [Published November 25, 2025]
Amanda Flower
I have now read [and liked] all of the books in this series. This had a setting change from Ohio to Pinecraft, Florida. Not surprisingly, a murder occurred and Millie and Lois 'solved' it!! Jethro, the pig, just happened to be in Pinecraft at the same time and so animals continued to play a role. My favorite proverb was: 'The only time to look down on someone is when you're bending over to help.' It will probably be 2027 before I visit with these ladies again.

Dating Can Be Deadly - Amish Matchmaker #5
Amanda Flower
Book #5 was set primarily at the County Fair [which is timely for us here in Lenawee County!!]. I found it very interesting and as always, the goats did not disappoint. I like the new baby goat - Scooter - certainly a sweetie. Amanda Flower does a great job with integrating a variety of animals into her writing. An Amish proverb that stood out was: 'The secret to getting ahead is getting started'. So true for most everything.

Honeymoons Can Be Hazardous - Amish Matchmaker #4
Amanda Flower
Another entertaining entry in this Amish series. The murder weapon here was different from any I have seen used before - a big cuckoo falling from a giant cuckoo clock!! An Amish proverb I enjoyed from this book: 'One thing you can learn by watching the clock is that it passes time by keeping its hands busy.'

Marriage Can Be Mischief - Amish Matchmaker #3
Amanda Flower
Another fun read set in Amish Country with Amish Marple and Lois [her Englisch sidekick]--this had a unique twist in that the murder was an unsolved cold-case from 40 yrs ago. I find the stories humorous and it is interesting to see how the Amish/English interact. I also LOVE the animals and how they are incorporated into the storyline.

Courting Can Be Killer - Amish Matchmaker #2
Amanda Flower
Another fun, light read for hot and hazy summer nights! I continue to find this Amish Country series set in the great state of Ohio to be entertaining. I particularly love the various animal characters [rambunctious goats, cute kittens, dependable buggy horses] and the two mystery-solving elderly [mid-60s] women [one who is Amish{Millie-AKA Amish Marple} and one who is an Englischer{Lois}]. I most look forward to the words of wisdom that that Millie drops throughout the stories and the various antics of Peter and Philip [Boer goats] .
