Little Fires Everywhere

It was an interesting story about two families lives and how they intersected. I guess while I was reading I kept saying “okay, but who cares?” There didn’t seem to be a reason why you cared what was going on. There was a lot of flashback and in depth about the character’s lives. It was a 3/5 for me.

This memoir was an easy and interesting read. It was also very disturbing--I had never heard of this actress or her primary shows on Nickelodeon, but I was intrigued by her story. Her childhood and how she was [mis-]treated by her mother [and others in her family] boggled my mind! I think this would make an excellent book for a discussion group.

Very interesting to see how this played out. The title was misleading really but overall I enjoyed this book!

Death By Beach Read

A pleasant fast-paced read that met my bingo square 'Beach Setting' requirement for another SRP. Librarian Lucy lives with Charles [the Bodie Island Lighthouse Library cat] and her fiancé in a historic cottage on Nags Head Beach. Of course, there is a murder and I did not figure out who the murderer was until after Lucy did. It was a fun read on a rainy day. My favorite character was Charles, of course!!

I read this book to fill one of these Bingo squares for another SRP: --Time Travel --Translated to English --Fantasy. It is the fifth book in the 'Before the Coffee Gets Cold' series and the first of the series for me. There were four different segments with different visitors traveling back in time. I found it somewhat difficult to follow and not very engaging. I enjoyed the last segment the most [??because the end was near??!!]. I do not know if I will read another one of these.
