Little Fires Everywhere
by Celeste Ng
View in Library Catalog
It was an interesting story about two families lives and how they intersected. I guess while I was reading I kept saying “okay, but who cares?” There didn’t seem to be a reason why you cared what was going on. There was a lot of flashback and in depth about the character’s lives. It was a 3/5 for me.
The Bfg (big Friendly Giant), By Roald Dahl
by David Wood

I have become a big fan of Roald Dahl after reading 'Matilda' [used for the book into Broadway play square] and now 'The BFG' [used for the mystical creature square]! Very thought-provoking and entertaining reads!!
Some Choose Darkness
by Charlie Donlea

This is the first in the new Rory Moore/Lane Phillips series. I have now read all of Charlie Donlea's crime thrillers and they do not disappoint. Rory is a forensic reconstructionist and her work with cold case homicides is remarkable!! I liked the use of multiple timelines and POVs and was intrigued by her restoration of porcelain dolls.
South Of Nowhere
by Jeffery Deaver

I always enjoy Jeffery Deaver books and the Colter Shaw series is very enjoyable. This was especially intriguing as it dealt with extreme flooding of an area and the fight for survival.

25 Alive
by James Patterson

This is the 25th "A Women's Murder Club Thriller" and it had some interesting moments [also pages and pages that I skimmed due to boredom], but I did not find it particularly 'thrilling'!! I don't know if I will read the 26th entry when it is published.
Nightshade
by Michael Connelly
View in Library Catalog
The newest crime novel by Connelly introduces a new character [Sheriff Detective Stilwell] in a new location [Catalina Island-off the Southern California coast]. I soon grew to enjoy this character and found the book to be fast-paced with several very exciting cat and mouse games at play.
Saving 6

I'm only giving this book 4 stars because the book was very good but in all honesty it took me a very long time to get into and I am not sure if that is just the writing style of the author or not but her other books in her series were the same for me I STRUGGLED to get into them and actually finish them.
Hunting Badger
by Tony Hillerman

Hunting Badger finds Leaphorn and Chee working 2 angles of the same case. Each is trying to catch the militia men who pulled off a violent heist at an Indian casino
Juror #3
by James Patterson

I have not read a lot of James Patterson recently, but I found this to be a fun read. I do love having very short chapters - much easier to read in bits and pieces of time. I like being in the courtroom and being exposed to what happens in the 'deep South' - always eye-opening.
