Summer Sisters
by JUDY BLUME
View in Library Catalog
I needed a book with 'Summer' in the title for my SRP Book Bingo and chose Juney Blume's 'Summer Sisters'. This is actually the first book I have read by her. Overall, I enjoyed it even though it was more 'chick lit/romance' than my usual tendencies! I found both of the primary female characters [Vix and Caitlyn] to be somewhat likeable and I did want to see how things were going to proceed. I wouldn't want a steady diet of this type of book, but one a year is fine!!!
Saving 6

I'm only giving this book 4 stars because the book was very good but in all honesty it took me a very long time to get into and I am not sure if that is just the writing style of the author or not but her other books in her series were the same for me I STRUGGLED to get into them and actually finish them.
Throne Of Glass

Beginning can be rough to get into as it starts with world building. As you read you become immersed into the world of Celaena Sardothian. You will definitely want to continue the series for more.
The Hundred Dresses

This is a fantastic story that teaches a very important lesson.

The Intern

This is the first book I have read by this author. I enjoyed it enough to probably read another. There were dual timelines shifting between two narrators . There were also a lot of characters and so it was occasionally hard to follow. I read it in an e-book format which had flaws in it - leads to confusion!! I do enjoy legal thrillers - although it mainly focused on the criminal activities of the characters and very little took place in the courtroom.
First Lie Wins

This is the author's adult debut book and it is a winner!! To me this was a fast-paced book packed with action and lots of likeable characters. When I found out who the true 'bad-guy' was, I was disappointed because this character was also one I really liked. The book held my interest and had me wondering throughout--a fun read.
Too Big To Die
by Sue Ann Jaffarian

A light summer read with interesting human and animal characters. This is the twelfth installment in the series and the author comes up with new types of murders to make it fun to continue to follow. I especially enjoyed the beginning where the main characters were rescuing a dog from a locked vehicle on a very hot day.
Juror #3
by James Patterson

I have not read a lot of James Patterson recently, but I found this to be a fun read. I do love having very short chapters - much easier to read in bits and pieces of time. I like being in the courtroom and being exposed to what happens in the 'deep South' - always eye-opening.
