Some Choose Darkness
by Charlie Donlea
View in Library Catalog
This is the first in the new Rory Moore/Lane Phillips series. I have now read all of Charlie Donlea's crime thrillers and they do not disappoint. Rory is a forensic reconstructionist and her work with cold case homicides is remarkable!! I liked the use of multiple timelines and POVs and was intrigued by her restoration of porcelain dolls.
Oregon Trail
by David Lasky

I do not read many graphic novels, but they can be informative and fun! I enjoyed this work set in 1848 detailing a 2000+ miles trip on the Oregon Trail. It is hard to fathom all of the dangers that were faced.
Heartless Hunter
by Kristen Ciccarelli

I really enjoyed this, but the ending killed me. ?? There were a few twists that were predictable, but I am glad there is a sequel because I still want to find out more.
The Night Shift
by Alex Finlay

I really enjoyed this book and was kept guessing as to what happened until almost the end. There were many sad moments but it was overall a very positive read.
Death At The Drive-in
by Angie Fox
View in Library Catalog
Verity digs into the cold case of Kitty Cunningham who disappeared on the way to the drive-in. It links to avmodern crime.
With a Vengeance
by Riley Sager

Not his best, but not his worst. I didn’t find the twist to be shocking.
Insignificant Events In The Life Of A Cactus
by Dusti Bowling

I read this book after seeing it recommended by a fellow Buckeye for a Buckeye Bingo Square! I found it very interesting and liked learning more about Tourette Syndrome. It was heartwarming to have Aven [the armless girl] bond with Connor [with Tourette's] and Zion [weight/self-esteem issues] and to see them supporting and growing stronger with their mutual support.
Here We Go Again
by Alison Cochrun

I loved the banter back and forth between Joe, Logan, and Rosemary. The road trip element and Remy were great pieces of the story as well. However, Logan drove me nuts at times with her random pop culture references and weird comparisons.
The Wailing Wind
by Tony Hillerman

Officer Manualito finds a man curled up on the seat of a truck just like any other drunk, which gets Bernie into trouble for mishandling a crime scene. This gets Jim Chee into trouble with the FBI yet again. This gets Joe Leaphorn out of retirement and involved withthe old Golden Calf homicide that he would like to forget.
2 Sisters Murder Investigations
by James Patterson

I had quit reading Patterson and did not realize that he had started another new series. This is the second book in that series and it was a fun read. I do enjoy the trademark 'short chapters' - makes it easier to read in small intervals of time!!
